Harry Potter Books 1-4 Boxed Set / Bloomsbury, London / 1st Edition / Extremely Scarce Boxed Set / In Very Good Condition / Collector's Item

An extremely scarce Harry Potter set in very good condition. Known as the Deluxe gold signature edition, this series was first published by Bloomsbury in 2000. The first four novels are together here in the original slipcase box. At time of writing I can only find another a couple of other copies for sale anywhere and not in such good condition.

The Prisoner of Azkaban, 1999 First Edition, Ninth Impression;
The Goblet of Fire, 2000 First Edition, Fourth Impression.

The Prisoner of Azkaban is a particularly collectable edition with early state printing errors which were corrected in the later editions and "Joanne Rowling" on the copyright page as opposed to her preferred "JK Rowling". The print run was actually halted mid-way to make this correction, making copies with "Joanne Rowling" exceptionally rare.

The condition of all the books is superb with no writing or inscriptions. By the way the place marker ribbons are still tucked into the books, it looks as if they are un-read and indeed have been little opened. The only condition point to note is a couple of small marks to the gilt edges, but minor. (Being a small mark on the bottom edge of Philosopher's Stone and a small scuff also on the bottom edge of Prisoner of Azkaban).

These are large-format hardbacks with paste down illustrations on the front and with shiny gilt borders, signature and titles. They have ribbon place markers and gilt edges on all sides. This is an unillustrated series, as were the original editions. The cloth and titles are in fantastic condition.

The super slipcase box is covered by bright red cloth with gilt Hogwarts Express and JK Rowling signature to the sides, and gilt contents list on the back. Again, clean and smart. With some rubbing and a little scuffing to the cloth on the back corners (see photos), and a couple of very faint scuffs on the back - again minor and hardly noticeable.
