A super vintage copy of Grimm's Fairy Tales, published by Ward Lock, London in 1935. In good condition for a children's book of this age and with sixteen eye-catching full-page colour plates by Harry Theaker.
Tales included in this volume are: The Drummer; The Frog-Prince; Hansel and Grethel; The Six Servants; The Fisherman And His Wife; The Brave Little Tailor; King Throstle-Beard; The Shoes That Were Danced Into Holes; Rumpelstiltskin; One-Eye Two Eyes and Three Eyes; The Bottled Spirit; The Boy Who Learnt To Shudder; The Wise Griffon; The Golden Goose; The Twelve Brothers and The Three Spinning Women.
Inside the pages are in good condition being clean, bright and tightly bound. With just a couple of faint brown blemishes. Has a pencilled inscription at the top of the title page which has been erased, but has left an imprint (see final photo). All sixteen colour plates are present and in very good condition.
The illustrated cover has some rubbing and wear around the edges and also to the corners to reveal boards at the tips. The cover illustration of The Golden Goose has remained bright. The pink cloth spine has fared well and the lettering is un-faded.
