c1912 The Rose Book of the Fairies - Illustrated Antique Book

In excellent condition, here is a scarce antique copy of The Rose Book of The Fairies. Edited by Mrs Herbert Strang. Undated but would have been published in 1912 by Humphrey Milford, London. Containing 23 fairy tales. With nine colour plates and wonderful black line decoration throughout by Lilan A Govey. Condition in detail below.

Contains Sleeping Beauty; Aladdin; Little Red Riding Hood; Cinderella; The Ugly Duckling; Puss in Boots; Hansel and Gretel; Beauty and the Beast and Rumpelstiltskin amongst the many tales.

Inside the pages are clean, bright and tightly bound. Tanning to endpapers. Inked inscription dated 1919 on the front free endpaper. Has some erased writing on the "Belongs To" page - but this is very faint and hard to spot. Otherwise all in top order.

In pink and red papered boards, with red cloth spine which has black printed titles and decoration. Again in super condition. Has some rubbing to the corners to reveal boards beneath at the tips. Otherwise just very lightly rubbed on the edges. Colour on the boards and spine has remained very strong. A really good example.
