c1910 British Birds' Eggs and Nests by Rev. Canon Atkinson / George Routledge, London / 12 Colour Plates / Fold-Out Chart / Good Condition

In good condition here is an antique copy of Reverend Canon Atkinson's British Birds' Eggs and Nests Popularly Described, originally published in 1862 this is a Revised undated edition from around 1910. Containing twelve colour plates and a fold out chart which have all aged well. With some fading along the board edges being the only real condition point to note (see final photo).

Inside the pages are clean, bright and tightly bound with no writing or other markings of previous ownership. Has some folded/creased corners. The twelve colour plates are all present and in top order. The rear of the book has a pouch containing a large fold-out chart entitled "Synoptical Table of British-Breeding Birds' Nests and Eggs Showing Site and Material of the Former, and Number, Colour and Markings of the Latter." This is a large chart and is incredibly detailed. The chart is in super condition. Book has an Appendix and Index.

Blue cloth covered boards have bright titles and decoration to the front and spine. Again in top condition. With just the above-mentioned fading along the fore-edges of the front and back (see final photo) and a little rubbing to the corner tips and spine ends.

Would make an excellent gift for the ornithologist. Packed full of information and looks good on the vintage bookshelf too.
