At The Back of the North Wind by George MacDonald (1900) - Illustrated Antique Book

In very good + condition, here is an antique copy of At The Back of the North Wind by George MacDonald. Published in 1900 by Blackie and Son Ltd of London. With 75 black and white illustrtations by Pre-Raphaelite artist Arthur Hughes, and with frontispiece and cover design by Laurence Housman. More details below.

Inside the pages are clean, bright and tightly bound. Has a nealtly-inked inscription to the front free endpaper, but no other writing or markings of previous ownership. A little tanning to the endpapers. A few folded corner tips, and a very slight lean.

Turquoise cloth backed boards have ornate gilt decoration to the spine, and chocolate-brown illustration to the front. Again in top order. Just a few slight indents to the back - but minor, and a slight bump to the top rear corner.
