Here is a scarce hardback copy of A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett. Published in 2008 to the usual high quality standards to be expected of The Folio Society, London. With eight colour plates, printed on Abbey Wove paper.

An early version of A Little Princess entitled Sara Crewe first appeared in serial form in the periodical St Nicholas in 1887 and in book form in 1888. Frances Hodgson Burnett subsequently dramatised Sara Crewe in 1902 as A Little Princess. The book was later rewritten and was published with Harold Piffard's illustrations in 1905 by Frederick Warne & Co...This edition follows the text of the 1905 edition with minor emendations.

The book itself is in MINT condition. The cloth covered boards have gilt blocking based on the first UK edition. The front board inset label is based also on the label of the UK first edition.

The slipcase box also looks brand new, being clean, sturdy and smart. With just a couple of the faintest marks - but minor.
