1979 Abbey Lubbers, Banshees and Boggarts A Who's Who Of Fairies by Katharine Briggs / 1st Edition Kestrel Books / Beautifully Illustrated

Here is a scarce and highly collectable vintage hardback copy of Abbey Lubbers, Banshees & Boggarts. Arranged in encyclopaedia format, this is a shorter version of Katharine Briggs classic Dictionary of Fairies, but is beautifully illustrated with colour plates and 71 black and white drawings (see photos). There are also more anecdotes and tales about the fairies than in the dictionary. This is a first edition hardback published by Kestrel Books, London.

In good condition, with clean and tightly bound pages. Has some tanning and spotting to the closed outside edges. With one fold plus some mild creasing to the top corners. There is no writing, marks or inscriptions.

In the original unclipped dust wrapper. With some creasing to the corners and spine ends (see final close-up photo). Otherwise clean, bright and smart with illustration also on the back.
