1965 Jane Austen The Six Novels by WA Craik - Vintage Book

In excellent condition, here is a vintage hardback copy of Jane Austen - The Six Novels by WA Craik. Being a first edition, published in 1965 by Methuen & Co., Ltd, London. In the original dust wrapper, which reads:

"...Dr Craik devotes a chapter to each of the six completed novels, in which she examines Jane Austen's presentation of her characters and her changing attitude to them, and the handling of major scenes, dialogue, reported speech; and narrative, which go to make up her technique as a novelist. Her main emphasis is on the author's development and her growing recognition of what can be done within the bounds of the novel".

Inside the pages are clean, bright and tightly bound. No writing or markings of previous ownership. Faint spotting along top edge. Unillustrated.

The unclipped dust wrapper is also in very good order. Just some tanning to the spine and around the edges.
