In good condition here is a vintage hardback copy of London Overlooked by Geoffrey Fletcher. First published by Hutchinson of London in November 1962, this is a second impression from later that same month. In the original dust jacket which reads:
"This is an unfamiliar London. It is the city that reveals itself to the inquiring mind and the sensitive eye of an artist for whom, as for Dr Johnson, London is an obsession. As he prowls about the capital's narrow streets, alleys and by-ways, sketchbook in hand, Geoffrey Fletcher has an unfailing eye for the odd, the unusual, the extravagant. His gifts as an architectural artist are everywhere acknowledged, and have never been used to better advantage than in the drawings specially made for this book. To them he adds a wise and witty text..."
Inside the pages are clean and tightly bound with no writing or inscriptions. There is some tanning and spotting to the closed outside edges.
Contents: Streets Broad and Narrow; Limehouse Views; Camden Town; Islington; Iron and Marble; London Gothic; The Mysterious East; Stucco and Gilt.
The price-clipped dust wrapper is also in pretty good condition. There are several nicks and chips along the top edge near the spine with one small area of loss on the back. Has some light spotting and the occasional scuff mark, but overall clean and smart and has kept a good bright colour. It has now been protected for the future by the addition of a removable plastic sleeve.
