1949 Works of the Bronte Sisters / Complete in Five Volumes / The Heather Edition

In very good condition. The most attractive edition of the Bronte's complete novels that I have come across. Published in London in 1949 by Allan Wingate this series is known as "The Heather Edition". This is because the cloth covered boards are in a gorgeous heather/lilac colour and the title page also follows the same theme (see photo). Condition in detail below.

The six comprise: Wuthering Heights; Jane Eyre; The Tenant of Wildfell Hall; Shirley; Villette; The Professor with Poems and Miscellanea.

The contents are clean and tightly bound with no writing or marks. Toning along the closed top edge  with a few light scuffs. This is an unillustrated edition.

The heather cloth covered boards are very attractive indeed. Having kept their beautiful colour. The spines have faded just a little in comparison to the fronts and backs. With one small dark mark to the front of Jane Eyre. The main CONDITION POINT to note is that the gilt title Villette has dulled and is harder to make out than the other titles (see photos).
