In the scarce original dust jacket, here is a lovely vintage edition of Hans Andersen's Fairy Tales. Undated but would have been published in the 1940s by Thomas Nelson and Sons, London. Richly illustrated with a colour frontispiece and sixteen black line drawings by Honor C Appleton (see photos).

A comprehensive edition with forty-two tales including The Emperor's New Clothes, The Ugly Duckling, The Snow Queen, The Little Mermaid and The Red Shoes amongst many others.

Inside the pages are clean and tightly bound with no writing or other markings of previous ownership. Has some mild tanning and spotting to the endpapers, with darker brown spotting to the closed outside edges.

The unclipped jacket has charming illustrations to the front and spine. It has a fair amount of wear with some closed nicks and tears to the edges. These have been reinforced on the reverse side with bookbinder's tape. The jacket has now been preserved for the future by the addition of an archival plastic sleeve and looks bright and smart.

Your vintage copy of Hans Andersen's Fairy Tales will be wrapped with care in tissue and ribbon* and sent well packaged. I am always happy to include a gift card with a message in the parcel.
