In excellent condition here is a charming pocket-sized vintage edition of Lorna Doone by RD Blackmore from the 1930s. Published by Collins Clear-Type Press of London. Richly illustrated with eighteen black and white illustrations and photos of the landscapes of the story. In red faux leather and in a matching red slipcase box. Appears un-read.

Lorna Doone is the story of John Ridd, a farmer who finds love amid the religious and social turmoil of seventeenth-century England. He is just a boy when his father is slain by the Doones, a lawless clan inhabiting wild Exmoor on the border of Somerset and Devon.

Inside the pages are in super condition, clean, bright and tightly bound with no writing or markings of previous ownership. Has a thin place marker ribbon. The pages are tinted red along the top edge.

Red faux leather covers are in mint condition having been well protected by the box. The gilt titles are shiny bright.

The slipcase box is also super with just some rubbing and scuffs around the outside edges.

A lovely edition. Your vintage copy of Lorna Doone will be wrapped with care in tissue and ribbon* and sent well packaged. I am always happy to include a gift card with a message.

H 16.5 cm x W 11 cm, 640 pages, 0.37 kg. I dispatch worldwide daily from the UK. (There are just a very few countries which I am unable to ship to).

* If you would prefer for your book not to be decoratively wrapped but sent simply in the protective packaging, simply add a note to the order.
