In very good condition, here is a vintage hardback copy of Leaves of Grass by Walt Whitman. Published in 1929 by Humphrey Milford in London for Oxford University Press. Condition in detail below.
A seminal poetry collection by the American poet. First published in 1855, Whitman spent his entire life rewriting, expanding, and revising it until his death in 1892. It is celebrated as a masterpiece that redefined American literature.
Inside the pages are clean, bright and tightly bound. Has a name and address label at the top of the front free endpaper (partially obscured for data protection), but no other markings of previous ownership. A few folds to the top corners. Unillustrated. With a thin blue place-marker ribbon and gilt edged on all sides. The gilt is shiny bright, with a few scuffs.
Blue cloth over boards have gilt decoration and titles to front and spine. Has rubbing and rounding to the corners. A few light marks to the boards. The gilt is sparkly bright, and this is an elegant-looking pocket-sized volume.
