1928 The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving - Illustrated by Arthur Rackham

Here is a super vintage hardback copy of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving. Published in 1928 by George Harrap & Co., London. With eight colour plates and numerous line drawings by Arthur Rackham. In very good condition, with a white mark on the back and an Ex Libris sticker being the main condition points to note. More details below.

Inside opens onto super illustrated endpapers. There is the above-mentioned sticker on the front free endpaper (see photos), but no other writing or markings of previous ownership. All of the colour plates are present as called for. The top edge is gilt, with mild spotting to the other two edges.

Olive-green cloth over boards have shiny gilt decoration to the front and spine. Has a whitewash mark to the bottom rear corner and a faint scratch a little further above, but the latter is hard to spot. Otherwise super, with just some mild rubbing to the corners and spine ends/joints.
