1920s Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll - Illustrated Antique Book

In very good condition and scarce in this illustrated edition, here is a vintage copy of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. Undated, but would have been published in the 1920s by Collins Clear-Type Press, London. It has four colour plate illustrations by Chas Pears as well as a number in black line.

Inside the pages have tanned, but are otherwise clean and tightly bound. With just some slight scattered spotting, and toning along the top. Has a prize bookplate on the front paste down, but no other markings of previous ownership. The four colour plates have white shadow printing or offsetting of the text on the opposite page (see photos). One page has some scuffing to the surface near the bottom where a couple of pages have stuck together and been pulled apart.

Red cloth over boards have colour paste down to the front and gilt titles. Has some rubbing to the cloth around the edges and to spine ends, otherwise very clean and smart. Tight and square.
