1913 Romantic America by Robert Haven Schauffler / The Century Co. / Richly Illustrated / Including One Colour Plate by Maxfield Parrish

In very good condition, here is an antique first edition copy of Romantic America by Robert Haven Schauffler. Published in 1913 by The Century Co. Richly illustrated throughout in line, plus there is a colour frontispiece by Maxfield Parrish.

Romantic America explores the beauty, culture, and spirit of the United States. Celebrating the landscapes, traditions, and ideals that define America, offering a poetic and nostalgic perspective on the country. Schauffler, known for his travel writings, paints a vivid picture of the nation's natural wonders and historical significance.

Inside the pages are clean ,bright and tightly bound. With some slight tanning to the front endpapers. Has a short inked inscription to the front free endpaper, but no other writing or markings of previous ownership. Has a cracked hinge at the end to reveal webbing, but in no way effecting the binding of the text block which is good and strong. All plates are present as called for, and all in good condition. The top closed edge is gilt, the other two sides untrimmed.

Dark green cloth covered boards have decoration to the front and spine, and gilt titles. Again all in top order. With just some mild rubbing/rounding to the corner tips and spine ends, and a slight bump to the top front corner, but minor.
