1912 The Swiss Family Robinson - Illustrated Antique Book

In very good condition, here is an antique hardback copy of The Swiss Family Robinson. Undated, but with a prize bookplate from 1912. Published by James Nisbet & Co., London. With a colour frontispiece and black line drawn illustrations. Condition in detail below.

Inside the pages are clean and tightly bound. With the occasional folded corner, faint handling mark and brown blemish. Has the above-mentioned bookplate on the front paste down, but no other markings of previous ownership. Mild tanning and spotting to the closed outside edges.

Striking green cloth over boards have dark red, black and gilt Art Nouveau floral decoration to the front and spine. A little rubbing to the cloth on the corners, edges and spine ends - but minor. Some faint white marks on the spine and to front, but again minor. Just the odd scuff to the dark red flowers. The gilt and colour have remained bright, and this is an extremely eye-catching book.
