1911 Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll / Antique Pocket Edition / Macmillan / Illustrated by John Tenniel / With Some Wear

Here is a lovely antique pocket edition of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. Richly illustrated throughout with the original drawings of John Tenniel (see photos). Published in 1911 by Macmillan and Co., London in what they called their "Miniature Edition" (see dimensions below). This copy is 113 years old and so inevitably has some signs of age (detailed below), but remains a super edition.

Inside opens onto tanned endpapers with a pencilled name along the front free endpaper. With toning and tanning to the closed outside edges. With some dark handling marks and the occasional light brown blemish. Has a few folded down corners. This copy has developed a mild lean over time.

I red cloth covered boards with gilt central Alice vignette and gilt titles to the spine. The red cloth on the boards has some dark marks with the grain of the cloth. The spine has faded a little in comparison to the front and back. With some rubbing to the cloth at the corner tips and spine ends, with a little fraying to the head of the spine.
