1910s Lorna Doone by RD Blackmore / W&R Chambers, London / Beautiful Large-Format Antique Edition / Richly Illustrated in Colour and Line

Here is a beautiful, large-format antique edition of RD Blackmore's historical fiction novel Lorna Doone. Undated but would have been published in the 1910s by W&R Chambers Ltd, London. A striking book, packed full with twelve colour plates and many more line drawings. This copy is well over 100 years old and has fared very well. PLEASE SEE DIMENSIONS below of this large edition.

Inside the pages are clean and tightly bound. Has some scattered spotting through the text and to the closed outside edges. With some creased corners. This copy has not been written in and there are no other markings of previous ownership. All twelve colour plates are present and in top order, and there is also an illustrated title page. The top closed edge is gilt and this has some light scuffing.

Dark blue cloth covered boards have a front paste-down illustration and gilt decoration to the front and spine. Has some rubbing to the surface of the illustrated paste down, to the corner tips and to the spine ends. The latter having a little fraying and a few small splits to the cloth, but minor.
