1907 Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte in Two Volumes / John Grant, Edinburgh / Thornton Ed. / Lovely Antique Bronte Book / Very Good Condition

In very good condition, here is a lovely antique edition of Charlotte Bronte's novel Jane Eyre in two volumes. Published in 1907 by John Grant of Edinburgh as part of a series called the Novels of the Sisters Bronte, or The Thornton Edition. A super illustrated version of the novel. Fairly large in size (dimensions are listed below). 

Both volumes have a number of black and white illustrations which are primarily locations but also include a portrait of the author and a copy of the opening page of the original manuscript. Has an armorial bookplate on the front paste down of each volume, otherwise no other writing or markings of previous ownership. Mild tanning to endpapers and just occasional scattered spotting in the text. The top edges are gilt and the other edges untrimmed, with some spots to the fore-edges.

In olive-green cloth covered boards with attractive ornate gilt decoration to the spines. In very good condition indeed for antique copies of this age. With just a very faint brown foxed area near the spine of Volume II, a small nick to the cloth just underneath this, and the slightest of rubbing to the spine ends. The gilt decoration is bright and un-faded and this is an eye-catching set on display.
