In good condition, here is a lovely antique copy of Half Hours in Field and Forest - Chapters in natural History. Published in 1896 by James Nisbet & Co., London. Richly illustrated throughout in black and white. 

The Half-Hour Library of Travel, Nature and Science is referred to as being for Young Readers, but the books are filled with information and today we would deem the books equally suited for adult readers

Contents: Snow-White; In the Fields With the Birds; Early Morning in the Trees; In the Spring Time Among the Nests; In the Summer Time in Field and Forest; In the Winter Time With the Birds; Migration Whence They Came, Wither They Go; Hibernation or Winter Sleep; Estivation or Summer Sleep; Insects in the Field.

Inside the book opens onto a prize bookplate dated 1898 on the front free endpaper. With a small nick to the edge of the same page. With sporadic spotting through the text. Cracks open at the gutter in the middle, but the binding of the text block is good and strong.

Light brown cloth covered boards have attractive black and gilt decoration to the front and spine. Has some rubbing to the cloth on the corner tips and spine ends. With some rubbing also to the boards. The gilt is shiny bright.
