1870s Cinderella, Goldilocks etc. / SCARCE / Warne's National Nursery Library / Antique Book Around 150 Years Old / 48 Superb Colour Plates

Here is an extremely scarce copy of Cinderella, Goldilocks etc in Warne's National Library. Undated but would have been published in the 1870s and so is around 150 years old. Also contains Punch and Judy, a chapter on pets and on nursery rhymes. Unusually for a book from this age there are 48 super colour plates (see photos). As to be expected of a book from so long ago there are some signs of age and wear, (detailed below), but remains a super copy. Slightly larger than pocket-sized, see dimensions below.

Inside the pages are clean and tightly bound. Has some scuffing to the front paste down where it looks as if a previous owner has tried to remove a name (see final photo). With a small inked name to the half-title page. Has some tiny nicks and slight creases to the front free endpaper which also has a bookseller's blind stamp. Gapes at the gutter in the middle but the binding of the text block is good and strong.

In yellow-back boards with a red cloth spine. Has a good deal of rubbing and some chipping around the outside of the boards. Boards revealed at corners. Red cloth spine has a split down the front joint (see close-up photo), but this is to the surface only and the joints are still strong.
