In very good condition, here is an antique copy of The Ocean by PH Gosse. Published in 1860 by SPCK, London. Second edition. Octavo. Richly illustrated in black and white. More details below.

Contents: The Shores of Britain; The Arctic Seas; The Atlantic Ocean; The Pacific Ocean; The Indian Ocean.

Inside the pages are clean and tightly bound. Spotting to endpapers and outside edges. Has a prize bookplate to the front paste down, but no other writing or markings of previous ownership. With fifty illustrations including a frontispiece and a few full-page.

Grey cloth backed boards have olive-green and brown coral decoration tot the front and spine, and gilt titles. Again in very good order. Has some tanning to the spine, and mildly around the outside edges. A little rubbing to the spine ends.
