1812 RESCUE COPY The Pilgrim's Progress by John Bunyan

Here is a RESCUE COPY of The Pilgrim's Progress by John Bunyan. Published in 1812 by T Bayley, for J. Pownceby, London. With some condition issues, but 214 years old and far too good to be scrapped. In need of a new loving home. Condition in detail below.

The main condition point to note is that the upper board has cracked and is loose - but still attached by just the cords. Lower board still firmly attached. The text block is very good. Clean and tightly bound. With the occasional folded corner, mild spotting and one small open tear to the fore-edge of one page (not effecting the text). Some tanning to the pages on the bottom edge. Opens with a 32-page introduction the Life of John Bunyan. Remains of an elegantly-inked inscription to the front paste down.

Full calf-leather, with blind-stamped dentelles and spine bands. Black leather title plate with gilt titles. A lot of rubbing to the leather.
