1959 1st Edition, 3rd Impression - The Silver Chair by CS Lewis

Here is a first edition (third impression) copy of The Silver Chair by C.S. Lewis. The sixth book in The Chronicles of Narnia series, by publication date, and in the internal Narnian chronology. The very first edition was published in 1953, with this copy being from 1959. Illustrated, and still has the original dust jacket - with some loss. Condition in detail below.

Inside the pages are clean, bright and tightly bound, with no writing or other markings of previous ownership. Very light spotting to the closed outside edges. Has many delightful line drawings by Pauline Baynes, and map endpapers to front.

In the original, scarce unclipped dust wrapper. (Being the correct jacket for the book, as stated third impression at top of inner flap). With two closed tears down from the top edge on the front. Loss to the top of the spine and also on the back along the top (see photos). Otherwise clean and smart, with bright, strong colours. The jacket has now been protected for the future by the addition of a removable plastic sleeve.
