1954 British Pyralid and Plume Moths by Bryan Beirne / 405 Illustrations and Diagrams - 216 in Colour / Warne & Co., London / Dust Wrapper

Here is a vintage copy of British Pyralid and Plume Moths by Bryan Beirne. Published in 1954 by Warne & Co., London. "Containing a Descriptive History of All the British Species of Moths of the Families Pyralidae, Pterophoridae and Orneodidae." With the original dust wrapper. With a few condition points to note, (detailed below) but remaining a good copy. Richly illustrated with 405 illustrations and diagrams - 216 in colour.

Inside the pages are clean and tightly bound. Has blue speckled edges as published, and these have some spotting. Has tape marks to the endpapers, front and back (see final two photos). With an Ex Libris bookplate on the front paste down and a small name opposite on the front free endpaper.

Petrol blue faux leather boards have gilt and black stamped decoration to the front and spine. In top order having been well protected by the dust wrapper.

The unclipped dust jacket itself has kept a good bright colour. The has rubbed along the edges where there are some nicks, chips and small tears along the top and bottom end at the corners. It has now been protected for the future by the addition of a removable plastic sleeve.
