1950s Stories From Grimm / 16 Full Page Colour Plates by Harry Theaker / Vintage Fairy Tale Book / Good Condition / Snow White & Rose Red etc.

A super vintage copy of Stories From Grimm. Undated but would have been published in the 1950s by Blackie and Son, London. In good condition for a children's book of this age and with sixteen eye-catching full-page colour plates by Barbara C Freeman, along with line drawings.

Tales included in this volume are: Snow White and Rose Red; One-Eye, Two-Eyes and Three-Eyes; Rumpelstiltskin; The Gift of the Little People; The Clever Tailor Boy; The Satchel, The Hat and the Horn; The Wolf and the Goslings; Mother Holly.

Inside the pages are in good condition being clean and tightly bound. With just the occasional light mark and nicked edge, and a tear to the bottom edge of the last blank page. Has a prize book plate on the verso of the frontispiece dated 1955 (see final photo), but no other writing or markings of previous ownership. All sixteen colour plates are very good indeed. Bright and colourful. Some tanning and spotting to the closed outside edges.

With a paste down illustrated front board and light brown cloth spine. Has rubbing to the corners to reveal boards beneath, and a few light bumps around the outside edges. Otherwise bright and un-faded and the cover really does catch the eye.
