Signed by all ten original cast members, including Laurence Olivier, here is a first edition copy of Venus Observed A Play by Christopher Fry. 

Commissioned by Laurence Olivier Venus Observed is a play in blank verse. It concerns a Duke who decides to remarry for a third time. He gets his son Edgar to pick the bride. The Duke likes Perpetua but Edgar wants her for himself. It was first performed on 18 January 1950 at the St James's Theatre, London, and ran for 229 performances. 

The ten cast members signatures belong to: Laurence Olivier; Denholm Elliot; Heather Stannard; George Relph; Brenda de Banzie; Rachel Kempson; Robert Beaumont; Thomas Heathcote; Valerie Taylor and Fred Johnson.

Inside the pages are clean and tightly bound. Has tanning to the endpapers and closed outside edges.

In the original unclipped dust wrapper. This has some loss to the bottom front edge, and to the spine ends (see final photo). It has tanned. The jacket has now been protected for the future by the addition of an archival protective plastic sleeve.
