1949 Works of the Bronte Sisters / Allan Wingate, London / In EXCELLENT Condition / Complete Set

In absolutely EXCELLENT condition. The most attractive edition of the Bronte's novels that I have come across. So rare to find a complete set and especially in this condition. Published in London in 1949 by Allan Wingate this series is known as "The Heather Edition". This is because the cloth covered boards are in a gorgeous heather/lilac colour and the title page also follows the same theme (see photo). You will not find a better set than this.

The set comprises: Wuthering Heights; Jane Eyre; Villette; The Tenant of Wildfell Hall; Shirley; The Professor, Poems and Miscellanea.

The books are clean and tightly bound with no writing or marks. They look as they would have in 1949.

The heather cloth covered boards are very attractive indeed. Having kept their beautiful clour. The spines are completely uniform ensuring the set looks extremely eye-catching on display.
