A super vintage King Penguin 1st Edition from 1948. Number 49 in the series. The first half of the book has interesting beetle facts and diagrams. The second half of the book has 24 fantastic full-page colour plates of beetles and includes their Latin names. In very good condition.

Papered board covers, with beetle illustration, have fared well over the years. Just some light rubbing around the edges and one small light mark on the back.

Pages excellent. Has a small inked name to the front free endpaper.
