1946 Lorna Doone and Pride & Prejudice - Illustrated Vintage Book of Two Novels

Here is an unusual vintage hardback containing both Lorna Doone by RD Blackmore and also Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. The latter with illustrations taken from earlier CE Brock drawings. A very attractive edition. Unusual to find the two novels bound together in the one volume. Published by JJ Little & Ives Co. in 1946. Both novels are abridged versions. In a charming binding, with matching endpapers. Condition in detail below.

Inside the pages are clean and tightly bound. Opens onto fleur-de-lys endpapers to match the boards. There is a faint library stamp on the front free endpaper (see photos), and also faintly on the top closed edge, (but this is very hard to spot). Has a black old currency price to the rear endpaper, but no other writing or markings of previous ownership.

In papered boards, with dark blue/black faux leather spine, gilt titles and decoration. Again in good order. Just a little rubbing to corners and also some slight rubbing/cracking to spine ends.
