Absolutely wonderful illustrations in this copy of The Golden Porch A Book of Greek Fairy Tales by WML Hutchinson. Published by Longmans, Green & Co., London in 1925. Has a colour frontispiece and then delightful Art Nouveau line drawn illustrations throughout the book by Douglas Stewart Walker (see photos).
Contents: The Favourite of the Gods; The Prince Who Was a Seer; Peleus and the Sea-King's Daughter; The Lad With One Sandal; The Pansy Baby; The Heavenly Twins; The Isle of the Rose; The First Horse; The Builders of Troy.
Inside the pages are clean and tightly bound. Has an inscription on the verso of the frontispiece, otherwise no other writing or markings of previous ownership. With mildly bumped corners giving the pages a slight crease at the edges. Has some tanning and spotting to the closed outside edges. Has intricately decorative blue and white endpapers.
Dark grey cloth covered boards have light blue decoration and titles to the front and spine. In good order with just a little rubbing to the cloth at the corners and spine ends, and a very faint light mark on the back.
