1921 Tales From Shakespeare by Charles and Mary Lamb / TC & EC Jack London / Beautifully Illustrated by Norman Price / Some Wear to Boards

Here is a beautifully illustrated antique copy of Tales From Shakespeare by Charles and Mary Lamb. Undated but with an inscription from 1921. Published by TC & EC Jack, London. With sixteen colour plates. This copy is at least 104 years old and so inevitably has some wear (in this case some fading to the rear board), otherwise a lovely version of the tales.

Contents: The Tempest; A Midsummer Night's Dream; The Winter's Tale; Much Ado About Nothing; As You Like It; The Two Gentlemen of Verona; The Merchant of Venice; Cymbeline; King Lear; Macbeth; All's Well That Ends Well; The Taming of the Shrew; The Comedy of Errors; Measure For Measure; Twelfth Night; Timon of Athens; Romeo and Juliet; Hamlet; Othello; Pericles.

Inside the pages are clean and tightly bound. Has some tanning to the endpapers, and there is the above-mentioned inked inscription to the front paste down dated 1921. With some mild tanning and spotting to the closed outside edges. With one nicked edge. All sixteen colour plates are present as called for.

Light grey/brown cloth covered boards have dark brown decoration to the front and spine, and a front paste down illustration. Has some fading and rubbing to the fore-edge of the front board. The MAIN CONDITION POINT being fading to the cloth on the rear board (see final photo). Has rubbing to the corner tips and spine ends/joints.
