Here is a beautifully illustrated antique copy of The Travelling Companions and Other Stories For Children by Lady Margaret Sackville. With twelve delightful colour plates by Florence Anderson depicting fairies and elves, in addition to a number of line drawings in the text. Published in 1915 by Simpkin, Marshall, Hamilton, Kent & Co., London. This copy is 109 years old and so inevitably has some condition points, detailed below, but remains a lovely illustrated edition.

Inside the book opens with an inked inscription on the front free endpaper dated 1923. There is a good deal of tanning to the early and last few pages and to the opening frontispiece. With spotting to the closed outside edges. Has a 2.5 cm tear up from the bottom edge of the title page next to the margin. Has the occasional folded corner. Lacks the rear blank free endpaper. To note is that one of the black line drawings in the text has been partially coloured in red (the cloak-see final close-up photo), but this is the only case of that happening. All of the colour plates are present and they are absolutely charming.

Light blue cloth covered boards have fared very well - clean and smart. With just a little rounding to the corners and rubbing to the spine ends. The gilt titles on the spine are bright.
