1912 Romance & Legend of Chivalry by AR Hope-Moncrieff - Richly Illustrated

In very good condition, here is a beautiful copy of Romance & Legend of Chivalry by AR Hope-Moncrieff. Undated, but published by The Gresham Publishing Company Ltd in 1912. A richly illustrated, very attractive book. The decorative boards are lovely and there are many black and white, and colour illustrations (see photos).

Inside the pages are clean, bright and tightly bound. Mild spotting to the closed fore-edge and just occasional light spotting in the text - but minor. Gilt edged on the top. Beautifully illustrated with eight colour, and twenty-seven monochrome plates taken from drawings and famous paintings. One of these is a double-page of the Round Table.

In extremely attractive olive-green illustrated cloth over boards. Ornate decoration to the front and spine. All un-faded, clean and bright. A couple of thin scuffs on the back board. Slight rubbing to corners to reveal boards underneath the cloth at the tips. A few tiny splits to the cloth on the spine ends - again minor. Decoration has remained bright, gilt sparkly, and this is an extremely eye-catching book to display.
