1912 Romance & Legend of Chivalry by AR Hope-Moncrieff / Gresham Publishing / Richly Illustrated in Colour and BW / In Very Good Condition

In very good condition here is a beautiful copy of Romance & Legend of Chivalry by AR Hope-Moncrieff. Undated, but research shows it to be a first edition published by The Gresham Publishing Company Ltd in 1912. A richly illustrated, very attractive book. The decorative boards are lovely and there are many black and white and colour illustrations (see photos).

Inside the pages are clean, bright and tightly bound. With some mild spotting to the closed fore-edge. The top closed edge is tinted pale green. Beautifully illustrated with eight colour and twenty-seven monochrome plates taken from drawings and famous paintings. One of these is a double-page of the Round Table. The frontispiece colour illustration has the original tissue guard, clean and bright. 

In extremely attractive olive-green illustrated cloth covered boards. With ornate decoration to the front and spine. All un-faded, clean and bright. Has a small dark mark near the top of the front board (see final close-up photo). The decoration has remained bright and the gilt is sparkly and this is an extremely eye-catching book to display.
