1908 Scottish Gardens by Sir Herbert Maxwell - Illustrated Antique Book

In excellent condition, here is a beautiful, richly illustrated antique hardback book. Scottish Gardens Being a Representative Selection of Different Types, Old and New by Sir Herbert Maxwell. A first edition published by Edward Arnold of London in 1908. With thirty-two colour plates. The best condition copy I have seen. More details below.

Contents are excellent. Inside the pages are clean, bright and tightly bound. Tanning and spotting to the endpapers. Has a lovely bookplate on the front paste down, but no other writing or markings of previous ownership. The top edge is gilt. All of the charming colour plates are present with their tissue guards (tissues have occasional light spotting).

Red cloth-backed boards have dark-red stamped floral design and gilt titles. Again in absolutely top order. Just a few tiny splits to the cloth on the spine ends - but minor.
