1908 Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll - Illustrated, Antique Book

In eye-catching Art Nouveau decorated boards, here is a lovely antique copy of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. Undated, but published in 1908 by SW Partridge & Co., London. With eight black and white illustrations by KM Roberts. Condition in detail below.

Inside the pages are clean and tightly bound with mild scattered spotting. Has an inscription on the front free endpaper dated Xmas 1915, but no other writing or markings of previous ownership. Some tanning and spotting to closed outside edges. All eight black and white plates are present as called for, and all in good condition.

Blue cloth over boards have pale-green and dark-blue Art Nouveau decoration to the front and spine. The decoration on the front is in very good condition, just some mild rubbing. The dark blue on the spine has rubbed more, but the gilt titles are still bright. Mild rounding to the corners and spine ends. The book has a very slight lean. Also when looked at from the other way round, (from the fore-edge side end on), the boards are very slightly warped. This is hard to notice otherwise. A striking Art Nouveau copy of the children's classic.
