In good condition, here is a lovely antique copy of Under the Lilacs by Louisa M Alcott. Published in 1907 by Sampson, Low, Marston & Company, London. With eight black and white illustrations by Alice Barber Stephens.

Inside the pages are clean and tightly bound. With spotting to the endpapers and the occasional spot in the text. Has a prize book plate on the front paste down dated 1907, but no other writing or markings of previous ownership. Has tanning to the endpapers, with a shadow from the bookplate to the front free endpaper. All eight black and white plates are present as called for. One is loose from the margin at the bottom, but remains firmly attached at the top. The top closed edge is gilt.

Olive-green cloth covered boards have ornate decoration to the front and spine. With a few faint, light marks to the boards including a couple of slightly larger marks on the rear board. Has mild rubbing to the cloth on the corner tips and spine ends. The decoration on both the front and spine remains very bright, and this is an eye-catching book.
