1907 Poems by William Wordsworth : Illustrated Antique Book

Here is a lovely antique edition of Poems by William Wordsworth. Being a first thus, published in 1907 by Methuen & Co., London. With forty delightful line drawn illustrations by Edmund New. In very attractive decorative boards. Condition in detail below.

Inside the book opens onto a superb book plate to the front paste down (see photos). There a few faint pencil markings through the text also. Tanning to early pages. The top edge is gilt, the fore-edge untrimmed. In addition to the poems, there is a short chronology at the beginning.

Green cloth over boards have delightful cream decoration to the front, upper panel - and gilt titles. The front has fared very well, with just a small red ink mark to the left of the titles. The lower, bottom panel has a few light marks and a bump to the top corner. The cream decoration on the spine has rubbed away, but the gilt titles are bright. Has rubbing and a little fraying to the spine ends, and in one place on the bottom spine joint.
