In a lovely binding, here is an antique copy of The Life and Adventures of Robin Hood by John B Marsh. Published in 1904 by George Routledge & Sons, London. With a lovely cover design by the collectable Jessie M King. Richly illustrated inside in colour and line by Gordon Browne. This copy is 121 years old and so inevitably has some signs of wear (detailed below), but remains a lovely book.

Inside opens onto a prize bookplate from 1904 on the front paste down, but with no other writing or markings of previous ownership. Gapes at the gutter in a few places giving the pages a wobble, but they all remain firmly attached. (A couple of the pages are loose at the top, but firmly attached at the bottom). All sixteen black and white plates are present as called for, in addition there are four colour plates plus illustrations in the text. The colour frontispiece has a small closed tear to the fore-edge plus some loss across the top corner (see photos). The closed outside edges have some tanning and spotting.

Olive-green cloth covered boards have delightful Art Nouveau decoration in white and gold to the front, back and spine. Clean and smart. With some rubbing to the cloth at the corners and spine ends/joints. The gilt decoration remains shiny bright.
