1896 The Collector's Manual of British Land and Freshwater Shells - 9 Colour Plates

In very good condition, here is a super antique copy of The Collector's Manual of British Land and Freshwater Shells by Lionel Ernest Adams. Published in 1896 by Taylor Brothers, Leeds. With nine superb colour plates and two in monochrome.

Inside the pages are clean and tightly bound. Inscriptions to the verso of the front free endpaper, and top of half-title page, but no other writing or markings of previous ownership. Toning to the closed top edge. All of the plates are in excellent condition.

Red cloth over boards have gilt titles and gilt shell to front. Also in very good order. A few light spots on the back and a little darkening to the bottom edge, otherwise clean, smart and un-faded with shiny gilt.
