Here is a lovely antique edition of The Poetical Works of Lord Byron. Undated but would have been published around the 1880s by Gall & Inglis, Edinburgh. With eight dramatic engraved illustrations, shiny gilt edged pages and attractive boards.

Inside the pages are tightly bound with no writing or inscriptions. There is spotting to the first and last few pages and then scattered sporadically through the text. Has a few folded/creased corner tips. The eight illustrations comprise a frontispiece, title page and six tissue-guarded plates. The gilt edges have remained sparkly bright.

Red cloth covered boards have beautiful ornate gilt decoration to the front and spine, and blind stamped decoration on the back. The front and rear board are in top order. The spine has dulled a little in comparison to the sparkly front and there is a little rubbing/chipping to the spine ends. Otherwise good and looking extremely eye-catching on display.
