Here is a lovely antique copy of Half Hours in The Green Lanes - A Book For a Country Stroll by JE Taylor. Published in 1879 by David Bogue, London. Richly illustrated throughout in black and white. This copy is 146 years old and so has a few signs of age, as would be expected (detailed below), but remains a super copy.

Contents: By a Tarn Side; The Fishes, Mollusca, and Other Objects in the Tarn; The Reptiles in the Tarn and the Green Lanes; The Birds of the Green Lanes; The Butterflies and Moths of the Green Lanes; The Beetles and Other Insects of the Green Lanes; The Snails and Slugs of the Green Lanes; The Flowering Plants of the Green Lanes; The Rushes, Grasses and Ferns of the Green Lanes; The Mosses, Fungi and Lichens on the Green Lanes.

Inside the book opens with an elegantly inked inscription from 1883 at the top of the half-title page, but with no other writing or markings of previous ownership. With the occasional bit of spotting, but minor. Gapes at the gutter in one place in the middle, and has a cracked hinge at the end to reveal webbing, but the binding of the text block is very good and strong. 

Green cloth covered boards have black and gilt decoration to the front and spine. With some rubbing and a little bumping around the edges and corners. Has a few light faded areas on the front and back but the decoration and gilt on the front remain very bright indeed. The spine has dulled in comparison to the front and back, but again the gilt has remained bright. With some rubbing to the cloth at the spine ends with a split to the cloth along the top.
