The Laws of Piquet being the rules of the late 15th century card game (also known as Cent) edited by Cavendish (psuedonym for Henry Jones). Published in 1873 being a first edition by Thomas de la Rue of London. A charming antique hardback book in good condition with some rubbing to the boards being the main condition point to note.

Inside the pages are clean and tightly bound with a number of diagrams. Opens onto sparkly gilt star endpapers and gilt edged on all sides. This copy has not been written in and there are no other markings of previous ownership. With some tanning to the red and black title page.

Green boards have a charming stamped border comprised of hearts, clubs, spades and diamonds. With gilt titles and decoration to the front and spine. With some scuffs and some rubbing to the corners and the head and tail of the spine. The binding is really strong and tight with no cracked hinges.

Your antique copy of The Laws of Piquet will be wrapped with care in tissue and ribbon* and sent well packaged. I am always happy to include a gift card and message in the parcel.
