1870s The Poetical Works of Percy Bysshe Shelley - Illustrated Antique Book

In excellent condition, here is an eye-catching antique copy of The Poetical Works of Percy Bysshe Shelley. Undated, but would have been published in the 1870s by E. Moxon & Co., London. With steel-engraved illustrations plus wood-engraved head and tail pieces. More details below.

Inside the pages are clean, bright and tightly bound. A couple of folded corner tips. Has an inked inscription to the portrait frontispiece verso dated 1874, but no other writing or markings of previous ownership. Has six steel-engraved illustrations plus portrait frontispiece of Shelley. With woodcuts at the start and end of each section and to the title page. All edges are shiny gilt.

Blue cloth-backed boards have black and gilt stamped decoration and titles to the front and spine, and blind-stamped to the back. Again in top order, with just a little rubbing to the corners and spine ends. A striking book.

Your antique copy of Shelley's Poems will be wrapped with care in tissue and ribbon* and sent well packaged. I am always happy to add a gift card with a message to the parcel.
