Here is an attractive antique edition of The Swiss Family Robinson. This richly illustrated version is undated, but has a prize bookplate from 1897. Published by Cassell & Company, London. In striking decorative boards, and in good condition.

Inside the pages are clean, bright and tightly bound. Has light scattered spotting through the text. With the above-mentioned prize bookplate on the front paste down, and with a purple school stamp from 1898 on the verso of the title page (see photos).

Bright blue cloth covered boards have black and gilt stamped decoration to the front and spine. Again in good order. With some rubbing to the cloth on the edges, corners and spine ends. The decoration on the spine has darkened a little in comparison to the front. With a few very faint marks to the front and some light thin scuffs to the back and spine (with one darker scuff line across the centre of the back board). Has one dark red mark at the top of the back board. An eye-catching antique book.
