1915 UK First Edition / Anne of the Island by LM Montgomery

In excellent condition, here is an antique first UK edition of Anne of the Island by LM Montgomery. Published in 1915 by Pitman & Sons, London. Rare and sought after, being published in the same year as the US first edition, and in far fewer numbers.

Inside the pages are clean, bright and tightly bound. Has an inked name and address, dated "Xmas 1918" on the front free endpaper, but no other writing or markings of previous ownership. Mild toning along the top closed edge. Unillustrated.

Petrol-blue cloth over boards have the charming paste-down portrait illustration on the front by H Weston Taylor. Again all in top order, clean and un-faded. With just a little rubbing and rounding to the cloth on the corners and spine ends, but minor.
