In good condition here is an interesting antique copy of The Astronomy of the Bible - An Elementary Commentary on the Astronomical References of Holy Scripture by E Walter Maunder. Undated but with a Preface from 1908, published by T Sealey Clark & Co., London. With thirty-four black and white illustrations.

Contents: The Hebrew and Astronomy; The Creation; The Deep; The Firmament; The Ordinances of the Heavens; The Sun; The Moon; The Stars; Comets; Meteors; Eclipses of the Sun and Moon; Saturn and Astrology; The Origin of the Constellations; Genesis and the Constellations; The Story of the Deluge; The Tribes of Israel and the Zodiac; Leviathan; The Pleiades; Orion; Mazzaroth; Arcturus; The Day and Its Divisions; The Sabbath and the Week; The Month; The Year; The Sabbatic Year and the Jubilee; The Cycles of Daniel; Joshua's Long Day; The Dial of Ahaz and The Star of Bethlehem.

Inside the pages are clean, bright and tightly bound. With a small neatly-inked name and address on the front paste down (partially obscured in the photos for data protection), but no other writing or markings of previous ownership. The top closed edge is gilt. The book has developed a very slight lean over time.

Blue cloth covered boards have gilt decoration to the front, back and spine. All in top order, with shiny bright gilt.
