1904 Sterling Silver Hymns Ancient and Modern - Hallmarked

In very good condition, here is a charming antique hymn book. With a sterling silver, hallmarked front. In a red leather binding with gilt-edged pages. Pocket-sized (see dimensions below). Published in 1904 by William Clowes, London. Overall very good, with a couple of condition points to note, detailed below.

Inside the pages are clean and tightly bound, with just the odd spot. Has a small pencil mark on the verso of the dark brown front free endpaper where you can also just make out where another pencil note has been erased. Otherwise no other writing or markings of previous ownership.

With a lovely silver frontage which has an Art Nouveau design and the initials "IHS" at the head of the cross. The main condition point to note is a small split to the leather at the bottom front spine joint (measuring 1cm - see photos). However, this is stable and the binding remains good and strong. Gilt titles to the spine. Very attractive indeed. Making a lovely gift.
